Tips for the Best Lake Tahoe Getaway with Your Dog
6 OF THE BEST DOG-FRIENDLY THINGS TO DO IN NORTH LAKE TAHOE
1. DOG-FRIENDLY PARKS & TRAILS
If your pup prefers dry land, head to one of these parks or trails in North Lake Tahoe! Here, your pup can discover new scents. Be sure to bring a leash with you, as some trail loops require dogs to be leashed.
If you’re looking for an easy day hike, head to Page Meadows in the Tahoe National Forest. This five-mile trail loop trail on the West Shore of Lake Tahoe is a great place for an afternoon of hiking with your four-legged friend.
If you’re visiting North Lake Tahoe during the winter, head to Tahoe City Winter Sports Park! Here, well-behaved and leashed dogs are welcome to join their owners on the snowshoe loop.
There are nearly five miles of dog-friendly trails at the Tahoe Cross Country Center. Leashes are required at the trailhead or the parking lot, but once you get on the route, your pup is permitted to go off-leash. However, you need to keep your dog close and under voice command.
